Each year in autumn the VDP & Bernkasteler Ring members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux
 
The 2024 Wehlener Sonnenuhr, as it is referred on the central part of the label (the reference to the vintage and Prädikat is left for the side label), was made from fruit picked at 83° Oechsle in the prime Lammerterlay sector of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. This green-white-colored wine offers a quite subtle nose of white flowers, whipped cream, mint, and earthy elements on the nose. It reveals the subtle creaminess of a light Spätlese on the palate and leaves a nicely “full-on” fruit-driven feel in the finish. Minerals add complexity to the aftertaste. 2028-2036
