Falkenstein excel with this style of wine year after year. Steely, racy, very pure and long. Spontaneous fermentation like all the wines here with no enzymes of other additives, leads to a 'sponti' nose - showing a little reduction.

The 2024er Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben Mia (the reference to this internal cask name is provided in small print on the label after the AP number) is made from fruit harvested on old vines planted in the 1960s and was fermented down to barely fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. It displays a gorgeously refined and delicately aromatic nose of white peach, elderflower, almond cream, pink grapefruit, lime zest, thyme, herbs, and flintstone. The wine is tight and beautifully spicy on the palate, with intense citrusy and fresh fruits. The aftertaste is taut, hugely long, and spicy. 2034-2049
