Tom Williams took a winding path before Creating O Ma in Santenay in 2022. Trained as a chef and working as a chef before joining the wine trade in retail, before training in winemaking at Plumpton college in the UK, with stints in California at Kosta Browne and Drouhin. Theres a real focus on quality here, no such thing as a humble Bourgogne Aligote or Chardonnay, great effort across the range.
The 2023 is from Pouilly-Vinzelles in the Maconnais, native yeasts, no sulphur until a tiny dose at bottling, around 30% new oak.
