Each year in september the VDP members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux
 
The 2022er Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese with AP 08, an auction lot, was made from fruit picked at 89° Oechsle and was fermented down
to sweet levels of residual sugar (78 g/l). It offers a beautifully attractive and finely aromatic nose of juicy yellow peach, candied pineapple,
bergamot, honey, minty herbs, and smoke. The wine proves superbly creamy and juicy on the fruit-driven and delicately smooth palate. Notes of
whipped almond cream and candied exotic fruits come through and give it a clear Auslese presence. The finish proves delicate and smoky. This is
a superbly juicy and rich Spätlese. 2032-2052
