Founded in 1802, Weingut Klosterhof, is now run by brothers Dominique and Benjamin, who are currently moving to biodynamic farming. We first came across them last year and loved the green fruited Kabinetten, though this years 'noble sweet' wines are also exceptionally good in a vintage where little was made. A Producer to watch for sure.
Mosel Fine Wines Say:
The 2022er Brauneberger Riesling, as it is referred to on the front label (the reference to Feinherb is left for the back label), was made from a flatter
part of the vineyard harvested at 80° Oechsle and was fermented down to off-dry levels of residual sugar (16 g/l) and matured in Fuder. It offers a
superbly refined and elegant nose of cherry blossom, white pepper, lime, almond cream, violet, and fresh herbs. The wine is light-weighted and
fresh on the nicely playful and spicy palate. The finish is all about lightness, yet there is subtle length and focus in the already dryish after-taste.
This is a delicious light off-dry Mosel wine. 2024-2030
