2022 Herman Ludes Thornicher Ritsch Kabinett Monster

2022 Herman Ludes Thornicher Ritsch Kabinett Monster

Feral Factor: 1

Herman Ludes is another estate that has always cut its own path. Focussing on drier wines, elegant and light, as Mosel Fine Wines say:

"In many ways, they are all cut from a hypothetical blend of Joh. Joh. Prüm early backwardness and Falkenstein zing while embracing the delicacy and finesse from both Estates."

The 2022er Thörnicher Ritsch Riesling Kabinett “Monster” was made from fruit harvested at 81° Oechsle in the prime south-facing western part of

the vineyard and was fermented down to barely fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (44 g/l). It proves still lightly restrained, yet already shows a

superbly attractive and finely fruity nose of yellow peach, candy floss, fine herbs, spearmint, smoke, and a hint of greengage. The wine proves

delicately juicy and almost supple on the finely fruity (peach and pear) palate. The delicately playful and long finish proves a touch spicier and more

driven by candied citrus fruits which add a sensation of freshness. This Kabinett needs a couple of years to fully shine. 2030-2042
