Each year in september the VDP members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux
 
The 2021er Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from fruit picked at 84° Oechsle and was fermented
down to sweet levels of residual sugar (70 g/l). It offers a very pure and magnificently complex nose of white spices, anise, pineapple, stone fruits,
minty herbs, cassis, orange blossom, and citrusy fruits. The wine is gorgeously playful on the palate, where refined flavors of creamy fruits are
wrapped into a blanket of zesty and spicy fruits. The finish is still slightly on the sweet side at this early stage but already hints at the greatness to
come. This is a superbly impressive and truly great Spätlese. 2031-2051
