Founded in 1802, Weingut Klosterhof, is now run by brothers Dominique and Benjamin, who are currently moving to biodynamic farming. We first came across them last year and loved the green fruited Kabinetten, though this years 'noble sweet' wines are also exceptionally good in a vintage where little was made. A Producer to watch for sure.

The 2023er Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett “Thea”, as it is referred to on the consumer label (Thea is the first name of Benjamin Thomas’ second
daughter), was made with fruit picked at 81° Oechsle and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (51 g/l). This white-yellowcolored
wine offers an engaging nose made of passion fruit, subtly creamy elements, apricot, bergamot, and citrusy fruits. It develops the engaging
juicy presence of a racy Spätlese on the palate, where the subtly ripe side driven by apricot is nicely wrapped into racy cit rusy elements. The finish
is nicely mouthwatering and makes one want to go for more. 2028-2038
