Each year in autumn the VDP & Bernkasteler Ring members gather in Trier to auction their 'best' barrels of wine. We have been attending since 2010 and are delighted to bring a few bottles back to sell in Bordeaux
 
The 2023er Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese is a sweet wine with a superbly delicate and defined nose made of cassis, apricot, grapefruit, cream, mint, and smoke. The wine proves incredibly delicate and subtle on the palate yet is packed with elegant flavors of white flowers, apricot, almond, grapefruit, and white peach. The finish is lifted by a great sense of passion fruit infused acidity. This is a glorious Spätlese in the making which could easily excess our (high) expectations as the elements integrate with age. 2038-2063
